It has only been a few days since we posted to announce our plans for Ministry at Biketoberfest Daytona this coming October. We’re so glad that so many of our friends are already praying for this mission. I can already feel a great power whenever I pray and plan for the trip. I am 100% convinced that what God showed us last year, as miraculous as it was, was only the beginning. I truly believe that God has a great move of his Spirit planned for this event. I am thrilled to be going and humbled that he would allow us to be a part of his amazing work there.
Some things have changed since I last reached out to you and I need to call on you with more specific needs that we want to make known. I firmly believe that God has already supplied all we will need to see this through. Sometimes all we need to do is make sure those he is speaking to know where the need is.
This year we are hoping to take all of the burden we can off the rest of the crew we rendezvous with in Daytona who have been hit hard lately with being in the hospital and missing a lot of work. I don’t know how much we can raise but I believe I personally have enough friends that understand enough about the eternal impact of what we do that we could easily meet the entire goal without a lot of individual sacrifice. If just my followers gave $25 we’d knock it out tonight! Here’s what we are shooting for; $2,000 by October 1st to completely cover all the legal and setup of the Daytona ministry. This will relieve the burden of things most people don’t even realize we have to deal with. City Permits, inspections, Porta-Johns, food to feed the people, Propane for cooking, etc. This doesn’t do anything to get the crew from NC to Daytona but it does take care of those burdens once they get there. I’d love to see us over shoot this so we can help them cover their travel expenses. The rig they drive gets 6MPG and hauls a lot of stuff. All I’ve told them is I would get all the help I could. They haven’t asked me for anything but prayer. I’m praying every day. Now I’m asking you to join us in praying and if you can, share what you can to be a part of this ministry. We’ve always manage to go when God said to go and I know we will all make it this year as well. I want to close with this; We’re also willing to do some fundraisers if anyone has any ideas. One of our friends at church is making shirts for sale to help us. Our Hot dog suppers before our monthly singings helps out. Last year our church raised 1/2 our expenses by selling hot dogs all summer! That was nice. If you have any questions at all you can message us here or on facebook.
If you want to mail a check simply notate “Daytona” in the memo and you can send it to

I Know it is just now August and still hot but we are in full planning mode for Biketoberfest in Daytona which is fast approaching!
As I pray and meditate on this year’s ministry, I can feel great bursts of power and just know that all the miracles we saw God do last year are nothing compared to what he has planned for us this year. Needless to say, we are very excited about heading down to Daytona this year.
Last year our Lord Jesus allowed us the privilege of seeing him save many souls, forgive sinners, restore the broken, heal the sick, give work to the needy, compassion to the lonely and give hope to the hopeless. It was the most powerful 10 days ever in Daytona. I have often said since that it was like living in a bible story. What we saw there was amazing. This year our prayer is that God will show us even more as we strive to work harder doing our part.
Nicole & I have had our share of setbacks this year as have other team members. We’re working hard making preparations and are as healthy as we’ve been in years praise God! We’ve had some unexpected setbacks recently. Two vehicles are down so we had to take on a small car payment to get into a more reliable vehicle. I am ok with the 89 E350 van but that is a little too big for cupcake to have to drive around. (hehe) Plus it doesn’t have air and it’s been nearly 100 degrees lately. It’s not so bad. We’ve managed our entire marriage with no car payment. I guess we can bend on our debt-free rule just a little for a little while. Besides, it’s only new to us but we got it from a good friend who takes care of their things so we feel good about it. Especially at the wonderful price they gave us. That alone was a blessing. Since her car gets into the 40MPG range and my van gets 10MPG, it really does make a lot of sense with such a trip coming up. we took the van to Daytona last year and spent a ton on fuel. This year we will likely spend 1/5 in fuel. That will be nice.
So, for those of you who will, PRAY FOR US & FOR ALL OUR CO-WORKERS coming to Daytona. There are many teams throughout the city & different ministries. Nicole & I work with His Laboring Few Biker Ministry headquarted in Thomasville, NC. The crew we work most closely with are Michael & Robin StJohn who bring the big tent down and set up at First Baptist Daytona for the week. That is where you will find us every night holding church services and feeding people. I’ll be there most ever day as well working the streets, praying, counseling and doing whatever is needed along with the StJohns. We also head over to the Cabbage Patch to work with our friends & HLF members Richard Mills & Tom Lyons (pyro). They have a booth among the vendors & also a smaller food tent where they cook breakfast and feed campers & vendors while sharing Jesus with them. When we can, we try and give our friends Preacher and Poo (Ken & Pam Brooks) a break from their booth over at the swap meet so they can get out and catch some shade and have lunch.
It’s a hard week of work but it is so wonderful to experience God moving the way he does there. Thank you for your prayers. They help us more than you know. Nicole and I are very excited that the Lord has released us to go to Daytona again this October!
We will be heading down the coast on Saturday, October 10 and returning the 18th.
We will be involved in ministry all over the city with various teams. Please keep us in your prayers during that time as well as the hundreds of other ministers that will be throughout the city for Biketoberfest.
We’ve been blessed with a place to stay at an affordable price. We even get to bring Ginger & Gizmo! We’ve placed a deposit on the place so we’re committed. Not sure how to pay the rest of the costs but God said go so he’ll make a way. Should you feel led to help us, you can find the various ways to help on this page.
We’ll update more as we get closer to October. Blessings!
Seems like we’ve not been here in a while! We’ve been a little overwhelmed. please forgive us.
Since Drew passing in January, we’ve traveled very little. We’ve done a couple singings with Servant’s Call in Virginia.
Nicole and I have closed the Fireplace Store in Rutherfordton due to health battles.
We’ve moved back home to Brevard, NC to start new work and get the ministry established in the new location. It’s great to be home after over 20 years! Praise Jesus for his leading us home again.
We’re settled into a wonderful new church that is just like old family. Nicole is helping with the music program and I am helping with the sound tech stuff. Hopefully we’ll get the church online soon as well.
We’re discovering great new places to sing and preach/teach. I’ve had many opportunities to speak at our church and we’re making plans to hit the streets of Brevard very soon with some good singing and prayer stop action. Keep your eyes open and if you see us, stop and say hi!
That’s about it for now. I hope we’ll have lots of good reports in the near future.
In The Street Ministries will be set up at the Corvettes for Vets show in Forest City, NC this Saturday from 8am – 4pm.
Come on out and enjoy a great car show for an even greater cause! Stop in and say hi, hang out with us, pick up a free bible or give us your prayer requests. We’d love to see you.
Here is a link to the facebook event page for the show. Lots of great food, music and of course, CORVETTES!
Traveling back from Daytona Beach Bike Week Drew and I were talking about how nice the trip and how good ministry was. As we talked, the subject of cost was unavoidable. Fuel alone is a tremendous expense in our type of ministry. I said to Drew, “You know, I love biker ministry but I can’t make many events because they are so far away. What do you think about car shows? I bet we could stay busy all summer with a car show ministry within 100 miles of home”. That was IT! As it turns out, Drew had been praying about the very same thing for a long time. As we worked out the details, it became evident that God had already put everything else into place even years beforehand by blessing Drew with the things that would bring people to us… CARS!
THIS SUNDAY, April 21st we will set up our first ministry kiosk in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee at the Spring Rod Run. Due to prior obligations, we’re just gonna make closing day but we are so excited to see what God does with this outreach. We are planning to set up the Prowler for this event.
Please keep us in your prayers as we launch this new outreach of In The Street Ministries. We’ll still make the biker rallies as best we can but this will be much easier to finance in today’s economy and there are more major events nearer to our base of operations. We’ll post again next week to let you all know how the first show went.
